4 Reasons to choose the studio for your maternity session, cleveland ohio photographer
I LOVE a good outdoor session. But, here in Northeast Ohio, there are times when the studio makes a better place for photos than the outdoors. And weather isn’t the only factor that you should consider before booking your maternity session with me. The style, time of year, what you want your photos to look like, and the experience are also all factors.
Below, I’ve got 4 reasons why you may want to consider a studio maternity session.

1. Relaxed and private environment
Let’s face it, you may think in your home is a better location, and sometimes THAT is where you feel most comfortable! But cleaning up the home for me to come, worry about cluttering in the background, dogs barking, the delivery guy bringing Amazon packages to your doorstep…it can be a little distracting. Which, isn’t all that fun. The studio allows you to escape to a space you don’t have to clean or prep, you just literally show up. And then, since my studio is located on historic Public Square in downtown Medina, I highly suggest you make a day of it and go grab some lunch at one of the awesome restaurants right next to me! PS, I do have a completely private restroom as well, so no sharing with others in my building, don’t worry!
2. Access to my curated collection of unique set ups, backdrops, and wardrobe
The studio has a lifestyle feel, we have a bed, white creamy walls, and a neutral palette to give you that ‘at home look’ if you want! But, I also have an array of backdrops, set ups from time to time (the dried floral installation was a big hit, and is no longer in there as of the time of this posting, but don’t worry I’m always coming up with new set ups!) and a curated wardrobe for you to utilize the day of your session. PS both dresses and hats Mom is wearing in this session are a part of the wardrobe I offer to use at the studio!
3. Flexible scheduling that isn’t weather dependent
Again, in Cleveland, Ohio, we have a long winter. We have a lot of cold, snowy, dreary, wet, shitty days. If you live here, you know! The studio means no worrying about rescheduling due to rain, no cold, no worrying about sunset times. We can schedule with a lot more flexibility since we don’t have to worry about sunset, and it’s kind of nice not to have to even think about weather! If you have a tight schedule, demanding jobs, or already a few other kids with busy activities, then a studio might be a better fit for you.
4. A controlled setting that allows for consistent quality & unique images
Since I’ve been doing this for over 10 years, I can tell you that I have a pretty consistent portfolio. The studio allows for a very controlled space lighting and styling wise. So what you see in my portfolio, will be similar to what you receive! No surprises! Also, the studio allows us to have the privacy and space to take more intimate images if you’re looking for that. You don’t have to bare it all (but you can!) outdoors, but the studio can give us a space for a more ‘boudoir’ look where we can experiment with posing and styling your bump and body in the best possible way to show it all off!
